Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley greets workers at the Dimock Center in Roxbury on Wednesday for the announcement of $1 million in federal money to support substance use treatment and programming at the health center. The money will help the Dimock Center launch Boston’s first men’s clinical stabilization program. ‘For too long, our nation has treated the crisis of addiction with criminalization and incarceration, rather than the compassion and care that it demands,’ Pressley said. ‘This crisis is one that is deeply personal to me, which is why I was so proud to deliver this critical funding. … The wealth of our nation is the health of our people, and this is the type of investment needed to support the health, well-being and livelihoods of folks in Boston and beyond.’
