Workers from the A.D. Makepeace Co. harvest cranberries that have floated on the surface to be harvested on Friday, Oct. 7, in Wareham. The company was founded in 1854 by Abel Makepeace and is the largest grower in the Ocean Spray co-op according to its online profile. The company employs 95 people and harvests 15% of the Massachusetts cranberry crop. The berries are harvested from the end of September to mid-November.
