BMW iX M60 is a great mix of luxury and EV – Boston Herald

Step Aside Tesla!

When thinking of EV vehicles, the first manufacturer that comes to mind is Tesla. But with BMW stepping up to the plate, the Luxury manufacturer gives a wave as it stomps the competition with their new 2023 iX M60.

Auto manufacturers abound, are in full “go-mode” to try to perfect the EV and compete with others leading the way. Granted with a significant tax credit, manufacturers are hoping that consumers will make the leap over to full EV as well. For BMW, it’s a combination of things; Luxury, EV, competition, Power, etc. and the iX series and its gorgeous M60 was born.

Although the oversized front kidney-shaped gills are not for everyone, they don’t even work, since the EV does not require airflow to cool its engine like that of a gasoline engine; so aesthetics it is! But this vehicle is beautiful. Its curvatures are right, its ride height is perfect, its sightlines are impeccable. On the inside, the bright blue seatbelts lead the way in the fashion category while the Titanium Bronze accents scream modern all the way throughout the SUV. Legroom, technologically proven infotainment, small center console with dials and settings are just a few of the interior features that stood out in our week-long EV test. At 288 miles on a charge, the $105K price tag was a lot, but for good reason. The BMW iX M60 means luxury and it has it. Riding on 21 inch wheels, we noticed a great ride, all-wheel drive, 3.6 seconds zero – sixty and 9 exterior color options.

As the all-electric adrenaline begins to flow, the BMW iX M60 is really a valid EV option in Grasso’s Garage. To date, we have not witnessed an EV with such class, luxury and comfort. Although the high end market is very new to EV’s, we look forward to future models with EV options, while the gas models certainly suit all consumers. As most consumers will think about EV for their next vehicle option, the iX M60 is certainly one in the books, that is if you can get over the enlarged front kidney-shaped gills.
