An East Boston man who worked as a medical assistant at a Massachusetts General Hospital health center is facing new sexual assault charges after a second patient came forward to police.

Damien Knighton, 39, was arraigned on Monday in a second case involving an alleged indecent assault and battery on a patient at a MGH health center on Commonwealth Avenue, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. Knighton was charged with a single count of indecent assault and battery.

In the wake of this second alleged victim, Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden is now urging any patient who believes they may have been assaulted under similar circumstances to contact the Boston Police Department Sexual Assault Unit at 617-343-4400.

“We’re asking anyone who may now realize that they were victimized in a similar manner by this individual to contact the police,” Hayden said. “We don’t know if there are additional victims, but if there are, we hope they come forward to provide information about what happened to them.”
