FOOTBALL
Georgetown announced that it was forfeiting Friday’s football game against Lynn Tech. According to athletic director Ryan Browner, an abundance of injuries have left the football program with only 14 healthy bodies. Browner is hopeful that some of the injured players will return in the coming weeks.
FIELD HOCKEY
Junior Ally Lombardo registered a pair of goals, helping to pace Westford Academy during a 7-1 victory over Lowell in a nonleague game… Grace Haskell finished with a pair of goals while Samantha Souza added a goal and an assist as Dartmouth (9-2-4) defeated Bishop Stang, 3-0.
In a Merrimack Valley Conference contest, Senior Remore Serra had a fantastic outing, finishing with a hat trick to go with two assists as Chelmsford rolled to a 6-0 win over Dracut….Franchesca Thurston and Caitlin Milner netted two goal apiece, as Central Catholic (7-5-2) coasted to a 5-1 victory over Tewksbury.
Senior Emily Souke tallied the game’s lone goal, as Sandwich (13-0-1) captured the Cape and Islands League title with a close 1-0 victory over rival Dennis-Yarmouth.
In a Hockomock League matchup, Mary Collins recorded a hat trick and a pair of assists to lead Foxboro (12-0-2) to a 7-0 victory over Stoughton. … Kaitlyn Carney finished with five goals as Franklin (14-0-1) defeated North Attleboro, 10-1.
GIRLS SOCCER
Sydney Kofton sniped the game’s only goal, as Bishop Feehan captured the Catholic Central League title with a 1-0 victory over Archbishop Williams…Freshman Sophie Skabeikis finished with a pair of goals Wednesday, helping to pace St. Mary’s (Lynn) to a 3-0 win over Cardinal Spellman.
In the South Shore League, Chloe Kirchner recorded a hat-trick for Norwell (7-2-7) in an 8-0 win over Middleboro.
VOLLEYBALL
In a Cape and Islands League match, Grace Presswood (17 kills) and Vivian Castano (30 assists) propelled Dennis-Yarmouth (14-3) during a 3-0 sweep of Falmouth.
In a Hockomock League battle, senior Maddie Homer racked up 31 digs to surpass 1,000 for her career, while junior Sarah Hilliard collected 18 kills to lift Oliver Ames to a 3-1 win over Canton.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Lowell (10-0) defeated both Tewksbury (16-47) and Chelmsford (21-36) to wrap up the Merrimack Valley Conference for the 21st time in school history. The Red Raiders took four of the top six spots led by Jarlen Arango who won the 3.0 mile race, while Jack Courtney (second), Victor Duong (third) and Schneider Pierre (sixth) performed well.
GOLF
It was a clean sweep for Norwell at the South Shore League championships. The Clippers captured the team title with a 238, edging Abington (239) and Middleboro (241). Norwell’s Griffin Link took home medalist honors with 74, with Middleboro’s Luke Franey two strokes behind.
