Energetic JoJo loves doing cartwheels

[ad_1]

Joaris, who likes to go by JoJo, is an energetic girl — she enjoys being active and loves dance and gymnastics. JoJo engages quickly with others and loves to play with other children. She likes to ride her bike and do crafts — especially making and playing with slime. JoJo also enjoys pretend play such as dolls and house. She enjoys spending time with family members, and even when she plays on her tablet, she wants to be in the same room as her sister.

JoJo enjoys school. She gets along well with other children there and likes to be a leader. JoJo does particularly well with younger children.

Legally freed for adoption, JoJo would do well in a two-parent household and her social worker thinks she would benefit from being in a home with children that are older than her. JoJo will need a family that understands trauma and how to parent a child with a trauma history. A family for JoJo must be willing to maintain contact with her birth family.

Can I adopt?

If you’re at least 18 years old, have a stable source of income and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child. Adoptive parents can be single, married or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ+ singles and couples. As an adoptive parent, you won’t have to pay any fees; adoption from foster care is completely free in Massachusetts.

The process to adopt a child from foster care includes training, interviews and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you. These steps will help match you with a child or sibling group that your family will fit well with.

To learn more about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange at 617-964-6273 or go to mareinc.org. Start the process today and give a waiting child a permanent place to call home.
