Fall River police arrest man after shooting sends victim to hospital

A 29-year-old man is accused of shooting a 60-year-old man multiple times, sending the victim to the hospital Saturday evening, according to Fall River police.

Armando Rivera Angulo, 29, has been charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery by discharging a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

“Great job to the officers and detectives working last night who were able to make a quick arrest,” Fall River Police tweeted on Sunday.

Police officers responded to St. Joseph Street at around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a 60-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was treated on scene and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. The victim remained hospitalized in stable condition on Sunday.
