Male teen killed after Mattapan ‘tragic incident’

A male teenager died after a shooting in Mattapan on Sunday, according to police who are investigating yet another “tragic incident” in the city.

Boston Police responded to the shooting at Babson and Freemont streets in Mattapan on Sunday around noontime. A male teen was pronounced dead.

“Unfortunately we’re here at another tragic incident in the city,” Suffolk DA Kevin Hayden said at a press conference following the deadly shooting.

“Our hearts go out to our communities and everyone who’s affected,” he added.

Anyone who has information about the incident is being urged to contact police.

“We definitely need your help,” Hayden said.
