Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers expects to play Thursday against the Bills – Boston Herald

FOXBORO — Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers told the Herald he expects to play Thursday night against the Bills, despite the shoulder injury he suffered at Minnesota last week.

Earlier Tuesday, Meyers told reporters his shoulder is feeling “a lot better.” The 26-year-old fell hard on the Patriots’ first play from scrimmage against the Vikings and was later ushered into the X-ray room before returning to play. He finished with three catches for 62 yards.

According to the Patriots, Meyers was a limited participant in Monday’s practice due to the hurt shoulder.

On the season, he’s caught 47 passes for 571 yards and three touchdowns. His availability will be key against a Bills pass defense that ranks among the league’s best by most metrics, but has statistically been average versus slot receivers.

Over four career starts against Buffalo, Meyers has averaged more than five catches and 45 yards per game. He’s started eight of the nine games he’s played in this season.
