Sandwich girls field hockey extend unbeaten streak – Boston Herald

MONDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

FIELD HOCKEY

In a nonleague contest, Chloe Pickett netted a goal to go with an assist, while Alex Tardugno tallied eight saves for Methuen (8-7) during a 2-1 victory over Amesbury.

In the Patriot League, junior Katie Radzik tallied a hat trick, as Hanover topped Pembroke, 3-1…Haylen Wilson buried a pair of goals, helping to lead Hingham during a 4-2 victory over Silver Lake.

Emily Souke and Alivia Barnes each finished with a hat trick, as Sandwich (12-0-1) coasted to a 7-0 victory over Nantucket in a Cape and Islands League tilt.

In the Hockomock League, Ella Campbell and Mary Collins each had hat tricks as Foxboro defeated Sharon 9-0.

BOYS SOCCER

Trevor Grafton scored four times as Abington defeated Middleboro 9-2 in South Shore League play.

Cam Freitas (hat trick) and Derrick Camara (goal, two assists) provided a boost offensively, as Somerset Berkley (7-3-3) erupted for a 5-0 shutout of Seekonk in the South Coast Conference.

GIRLS SOCCER

In the Mayflower Athletic Conference, Kylie Fuller netted a hat trick and Rachael Geniuch added two more as West Bridgewater (12-1) blanked Bishop Connolly 7-0.

Olivia Avellar registered a hat trick, and Emma Easley tacked on two goals to lead Nauset (11-1-1) during a 6-0 win over Cape and Islands League foe Dennis-Yarmouth.

In a South Shore League battle, junior Sarah Duran netted a pair of goals to propel Hull (7-7-0) during a 3-0 shutout of Carver.

VOLLEYBALL

Grace Sorensen led the way with 12 kills and 12 digs, and Kendra Brown added 14 assists to pace Ipswich during a 3-0 sweep of Beverly in a nonleague match… Hailey Garcia finished with a hat trick, helping to guide Mashpee to a 4-1 victory over Sturgis West.

In a Hockomock League showdown, Julia Leonardo came through in the clutch with 29 kills and 21 digs, while Natalie Brojek (39 assists, 14 digs) and Sadie Whitmarsh (23 digs) also turned in stellar performances for Attleboro during a thrilling 3-2 victory over rival King Philip.

In Northeastern Conference play, Keira Sweetnam had 13 kills as Marblehead (11-2) swept Saugus 3-0.
