Randolph police are investigating a Fourth of July double shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a local country club and left one man dead, Chief Anthony Marag said.
At about 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to the area of 44 Mazzeo Drive, Mojitos Country Club, for a report of a shooting, Marag said.
Two men who had been shot at were transported to a Boston-area hospital by the Randolph Fire Department, authorities said, and the immediate area was closed to traffic.
One of the victims, Ivanildo Cabral, 29, of Worcester, succumbed to his injuries, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said.
The second man remains alive and hospitalized with serious injuiries.
The incident remains under active investigation. No arrrests have been made yet. There is no active threat to the community, the chief said.
Braintree, Milton, Stoughton, Holbrook, Weymouth, and State Police also responded to the scene.
