The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources 37th Massachusetts Tomato Contest was held at the Boston Public Market Plaza in Boston on Tuesday. The judges made their choices based on flavor, firmness/slicing quality, exterior color and shape. The contest was sponsored by the MDAR, New England Vegetable and Berry Growers’ Association, and Mass Farmers Markets, in cooperation with the Boston Public Market.
